		Marymatha Major Seminary, Trichur, with the motto "Pastores Dabo Vobis", came into existence on 31st May 1998 through the decree of Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhy, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Trichur. The seminary encompasses both the philosophical and theological formation. The seminary admits candidates from the Archdiocese of Trichur as well as from other dioceses and religious communities. At present the seminary has 144 students both in philosophy and theology. We have students from 7 dioceses and 9 religious congregations.

Marymatha Major Seminary is located 10 kilometers away from the Principle City of Trichur. The beautiful landscape and village set up make the location of the seminary very attractive. All the three methods of transport (road, rail and air) are possible to reach the seminary. From the Nedumbassery International Airport it is only 45 minutes' drive to the seminary and from Trichur railway station and bus stand (which accommodates all train services and buses) only ten minutes. This place has a very pleasant climate in the month of January. Maximum temperature will be around 30 during the day and 25 in the morning. As a whole it is a windy climate in those days.

FACILITIES

The seminary building is planned in 8 blocks. There are 120 self-contained rooms available in the Theology Block. All the rooms are comfortable and have telephone access. We also have arranged accommodations in neighboring houses, namely, Home of Love, Divine Vocationary Seminary and DBCLC. The facilities there also are comfortable and similar to those at the seminary. [Land Phone and E mail facilities are available; but Mobile Phones may be out of range.]
